I&B Ministry will host ‘Iconic Week’ from Aug 23-29 for unsung freedom leaders

Information and Broadcasting ministry will kick off the “Iconic Week” to commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav‘ (AKAM). There will be a plethora of activities as declared by the Union Minister of I&B Anurag Thakur to celebrate AKAM, beginning from August 23 till August 29.

The beautiful celebration will lure participation from across India in the ethos of ‘Jan Bhagidari and Jan Andolan,’ demonstrating New India’s experience and encouraging liberation fighters, especially the “Unsung Heroes of the Freedom Struggle,” through gigantic effort exercises.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated, “One of the key aspects of the synergistic celebration is 360-degree outreach through traditional means such as cultural programmes, nukkad Natak and TV programmes as well as innovative means of digital/social media. Young patrons can also enjoy interactive activities, quizzes and competitions across social media platforms of the Ministry, along with audiovisual glimpses of the freedom struggle and the New India.”

The Iconic Week under the AKAM will be a fantastic celebration for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a great way to show the fusion of the traits and miracles of the previous independence struggle with a young’s aspirations and spic & span India.

The daily capsule “Azadi Ka Safar, Akashvani Ke Saath” on All India Radio will be reaching universities and resources all over India through coordinated efforts of the Directorates of Information and Public Relations of several States and close by Ministry regional offices.

Dharohar (speeches of freedom leaders) and Nishaan (75 landmark destinations to be exhibited) are two exceptional programmes AIR Network will deliver. Aparajita (Women leaders) is another programme that AIR Network will deliver.

From continuous every day special news capsules on Unsung heroes and Freedom Struggle, Doordarshan (DD) Network will broadcast sectoral programmes under the titles ‘Naye Bharat Ka Naya Safar’ and ‘Journey of New India,’ covering subjects such as Diplomacy, Digital India, Legislative Reforms, and so on.

On the OTT stage www.cinemasofindia.com, the NFDC is likewise constructing a film festival, exhibiting a curated bundle of motion pictures including ‘Island City’ and ‘Crossing Bridges.’

To capitalize on the enthusiasm, a series of online film festivals will be hosted by the Films Division, including ‘India@75: Voyage of Progress’ and ‘India@75: Icons of India,’ will be hosted from August 23 to 25, and August 26 to 28, respectively.
