Coca-Cola will hold a public auction for limited edition computerised ‘loot boxes’ of non-fungible tokens in collaboration with avatar designer Tafi.
The brand is famous for uniting people all over the world. Therefore this release commemorates International Friendship Day on July 30th.
Furthermore, the gains from the four-day auction on the digital market space OpenSea will benefit Special Olympics International, a Coca-Cola partner, for more than 50 years.
The NFT is a “Coca-Cola Friendship Box” with vending machine inspiration. A trademarked air pocket jacket, a sound visualiser, and a friendship card inspired by Coca-collectible Cola’s purchase and selling cards from the 1940s are among the three NFTS found inside. Additionally, the boxes contain additional prizes that can be discovered when they are being opened.
The digital token can be worn within Decentraland’s virtual universe. This is Coca-first Cola’s use of blockchain to boost participation and brand recognition in advanced realities, and the business plans a “Roof Party” in the metaverse to commemorate the occasion.
Selman Careaga, President, Coca-Cola Trademark said, “Coca-Cola is one of the most collectable brands in the world, sharing its rich heritage with consumers through simple moments of joy for decades. We are excited to share our first NFTs with the metaverse where new friendships are being forged in new ways in new worlds, in celebration of International Friendship Day and in support of our longstanding friend and partner, Special Olympics.”
